Meet Us

Johannes was born in Oudtshoorn, South Africa in 1967. He completed his schooling at Oudtshoorn High. He attended Stellenbosch University where he obtained a degree in Accountancy. At the University of South Africa he obtained an honours degree in Commerce. He joined Village & Life in 1994 after completing three years with Price Waterhouse Coopers and lives in Camps Bay with his wife Ilsebe and his three daughters, Mila, Kristi and Isabelle.

Chantel matriculated at Florida High School and studied Tourism Management at the University of Stellenbosch, as well as Wine Culture and Photography. Her working experience includes highly regarded wine estates and a private game lodge. She loves working with people and is passionate about delivering high levels of service and complete customer satisfaction.

Muneeb grew up in Mitchell’s Plain as the youngest of 3 children and attended Princeton Senior Secondary School there, after matric he studied Tourism Management at CPUT while working as a student/volunteer at Cape Town Tourism to gain a better insight into the tourism industry. Muneeb joined Village & Life in 2010 as a concierge. As a young professional he is now doing his Bcomm Tourism Management with UNISA whilst maintaining a great social life, in his spare time Muneeb loves attending social events to strengthen his networking capabilities and volunteers his time with the less fortunate, he lives with his mother who he loves and adores, an adventurer at heart, he often goes off exploring the beautiful city of Cape Town.

Karin has been in the hospitality industry for the last 7 years enjoying the interaction between guests and helping them make their stay one to remember.
She has lived in Camps Bay most of her life and loves the mountain, the sea and most of all the sunsets. Her home language is German which she speaks to her 3 children.
She is passionate about travel and loves to plot routes for the guests to follow to let them experience Cape Town to its fullest.

Betty started her career as a caregiver in an old age home in Somerset West. Betty completed her tertiary education in 1997, studying a course in Computer Literacy. She then became a private housekeeper to Carel du Plessis, an ex rugby coach, and a caregiver to his children. Betty started working at The Bay Hotel as a Room Attendant and was promoted to Supervisor after 2 years. Betty was first promoted to Executive Housekeeper for Camps Bay Resort and now joins The Crystal team. Betty believes that Village & Life is a "college" that teaches her everyday and that it is a company that realises potential and develops that potential. She is the proud mother of two beautiful boys.

Leanda went to school and matriculated at Dr. Böhmer school in Bloemfontein. She attended Bloemfontein College after school, and also spent two years working and travelling abroad, in the UK, where she worked in some top notch hotels and lived in the famous Nottinghill. She has been with Village & Life since October 2008, and lives in Oranjezicht, and loves lazing in front of movies or being creative in the kitchen

Francois is married and has two daughters.  He has lived in Cape Town his entire life.  He loves the outdoors and every opportunity he can get he makes his way to The Cedarburg. He obtained his Trade diploma in Fitting & Turning (general maintenance) in 1981.  He then became a certified drafts man in 1995 and in 1999 he became a registered accredited outcome based educator. Francois previously worked for a well know Media company.

Carl was born in Cape Town and attended school in Muizenberg at Muizenberg High School.  After School, he achieved his National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting at Cape Peninsula University of Technology and then joined the Village & Life Group in 2005.  He loves fast cars and playing the trumpet. He’s very involved in choir and orchestra and teaching young children to play instruments
